The Chair of the Cambridge Development Corporation / Growth Company will be speaking at Great St Mary’s, Cambridge on 15th May from 7pm
And don’t forget the mayoral hustings on 23 April 2025 at the Wesley Church by Christ’s Pieces
See details here including how to sign up for in-person and also online/live-stream tickets
There is also a hustings on 10 April by the former Health Secretary’s construction forum which you can register online here. I remain concerned at the lack of properly-publicised hustings events for ordinary voters to cross-examine the candidates. This is the second construction industry forum event that I’ve been aware of. While it’s fine for someone like me based in Cambridge with a decent internet connection to access these things, most people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough can’t. Therefore once these elections are over, whoever wins the election needs to put in place arrangements to ensure that every district council area has one ‘in-person’ hustings – thinking of the Huntingdonshire and Fenland towns which are all too easily overlooked in favour of the two largest cities.
Contact your candidates today!
By the wonderful Democracy Club, go to Who Can I vote For’s Cambridgeshire & Peterborough mayoralty’s election page. Click on each of the candidates to find out their social media details and contact details and put your questions to them. Some of you may find it useful/helpful to ask the same question of each of the candidates, and compare responses.
See also your candidates in the county council contests – there are at least five candidates per seat, the first time ever we’ve had that many.
Ineligible to vote? Table your questions to the candidates anyway – and let them know why you are not eligible to vote and see how they respond.
