I think I’m at the ***Just build the damn thing and be done with it!*** stage
The third consultation has been launched – see https://fensreservoir.co.uk/
***Another consultation?!?***
Yes – I wrote about the Phase One consultation here back in 2022
In that earlier blogpost I asked:
“Given the volume of earth that has to be moved, will a light rail line be constructed to reduce truck movements?”
To which the answer looks like being ‘Yes’.

If they are going to build a rail link with all of the expense that entails, my take is that the should build one that can be left in place and used to link Chatteris to Ely and March – as I proposed back in 2022.

More details from Rail Future East here. Also for those of you interested in Cambridgeshire and regional transport issues, see their back copies of newsletters that nearly always have a Cambridge-related issue in them.
Community facilities and wildlife at the proposed reservoir.
They’ve clearly done some thinking on this so do have a look.

The brochure goes into more detail so I won’t repeat what it says.
