Romsey Labour Club site owner submits new planning application.

I wrote about the new proposal a couple of months ago here. I’ve not seen *any* community engagement, but ultimately that’s for people like local councillors, the Mill Road History Society, Mill Road 4 People and others who live in Romsey that the developers should have at least made efforts to engage with if they haven’t already.

To see the documents go to https://applications.greatercambridgeplanning.org/online-applications/ and type in 26/01037/FUL. (I don’t know if the URL from the portal page works – try it at https://applications.greatercambridgeplanning.org/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=TBZRSPDXM7Q00 )

“What do I think? I’m almost too tired to care because this thing has been dragging on for the best part of a decade”

For about half of this week getting across the road was as far as I could get to because of CFE/ME reminding me of the effects of doing too much – which goes with sitting at a desk and concentrating on a project / piece of work as it does going into the city centre or to a local event. I thought it might have been good to have gone to the Guildhall for this evening’s debate by councillors on the development corporation. Instead like most others, interested, I’ll be watching it online here. There are also a couple of public questions here.

Irrespective of what your views are, if you feel strongly about this application see the GCSP guide on how to respond here. Failing that:

AGM on the Cambs Unitaries Campagin

Their annual general meeting is on

This will look at the detail of what ministers are proposing for the unitary council. I was one of the founding members but for health reasons took a step back from being an active member because of CFS/ME symptoms.

Note there are some very good second hand bookshops along Mill Road – the RSPCA on the Romsey (east) side of the road, and also Amnesty on the other. (And indy-coffee houses gallore).

Anyway, the city councillors are about to start. You can also see how their counterparts in South Cambs got on too – see their meeting a few days ago here.

Enjoy!
